ForSHORE by Soletanche Bachy Cimas: a new port project in Buenaventura
Based on its commitment to creating value for its customers as an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project contractor for port infrastructure in Latin America, Soletanche Bachy Cimas – a brand of Soletanche Bachy Colombia – is beginning a new project.
The project involves building the foundations and expanding the slab for two new grain silos in the Compas Cascajal port terminal. The Soletanche Bachy Cimas teams will create two dolphins, pre-excavated piles from a floating platform (off-shore), and all the associated civil engineering works. The design was also coordinated by our subsidiary’s technical department.
The project will be carried out in the city of Buenaventura, at Dock 15 of the Cascajal terminal, which handles around 1m tonnes of bulk foodstuffs each year.
Thanks to its success on various types of port and maritime projects – in Buenaventura as well as Barranquilla, Tolú and Cartagena – Soletanche Bachy Cimas has built a strong relationship with the customer over more than 18 years and has become a strategic partner.
The project will take nine months and involve 90 employees (including personnel from the local community), who hope to draw on their commitment, experience and technical knowledge to successfully build this new structure, with a focus on quality, safety and environmental preservation.
This project further strengthens Soletanche Bachy’s expertise in maritime and port projects, combined under the ForSHORE brand.
