Bachy Soletanche Vietnam helps improve water quality in Ho Chi Minh City
Bachy Soletanche Vietnam (BSV) in collaboration with VINCI Construction Grands Projets (VCGP) is taking part in the construction of the first lot of the Nhieu Loc Thi Nghe wastewater treatment plant. This project will improve water quality in the capital of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Ho Chi Minh City wastewater treatment plant is an ambitious project.
The plant will be powered by over 15,000 m2 of solar panels to generate 3.5 MW of power. It will treat all the water in the Nhieu Loc Thi Nghe basin, equivalent to 480,000 m3 of water per day for 1.4 million inhabitants and part of Ho Chi Minh City’s District 2. Including design, construction, operation and maintenance, this extraordinary project is scheduled to last 5 years.
As the plant is located on marshy ground, the project required 15 months of preliminary work. This included diverting a river that runs through the site, building breakwaters and backfilling.
For this major project, we are working as a subcontractor for VCGP. Bachy Soletanche Vietnam’s work consisted of installing 183 bored piles 35 metres deep and building 16 diaphragm walls panels 47 metres deep.
Work began in August 2023 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2023. BSV is awaiting further additional lots during 2024.
