Soletanche Bachy to contribute, as part of the IRIS consortium, in the design and build of Line 15 East of the Grand Paris Express from Bobigny to Saint-Ouen!

The project includes :

• the construction of 4 new stations (Stade de France, Mairie d’Aubervilliers, Fort d’Aubervilliers and Drancy – Bobigny) and improvements to the Saint-Denis – Pleyel station
• excavation of a 5.5 km tunnel and upgrading of 2.5 km of existing tunnel
• the construction of 4 new service structures and the upgrading of 3 existing service structures
• real estate projects above Mairie d’Aubervilliers and Drancy-Bobigny stations.

As part of the Stations & Tunnels sub-group, our teams will have the opportunity to deploy all their know-how in deep diaphragm wall construction on the Mairie d’Aubervilliers station in particular. The first special foundation works are scheduled for mid-2025, and for a peak period of 4 months (late 2025 – early 2026), 8 Hydrofraises will be excavating the land to the north of Paris.

The tunnel will be integrated into a dense urban environment, with an average depth of 30 meters, and will cross several sensitive infrastructures. Excavation works will be carried out through different geological layers.

The consortium will be making every effort to reduce the environmental footprint of the works, with the emphasis on reusing materials, using low-carbon concrete for the retaining structures and infrastructure of the stations and service structures, and low-carbon fiber-reinforced concrete for the tunnel segments, as well as the use of electric site vehicles and equipment to help reduce CO2 emissions.

When completed in 2031, Line 15 East will significantly improve mobility for 675,000 people living in the Paris region, and contribute to the attractiveness of the area.
