Every day, millions of us take public transport to commute to work, see our loved ones and travel around… But do you know how our subways and train networks are built? From diaphragm walls to compensation grouting, from forepoling to tunnel boring, Soletanche Bachy\u2019s teams work tirelessly to create these complex and ambitious structures. This month we invite you to explore behind the scenes of these sites!<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div> <\/p>\n These projects are impressive in terms of their scale as well as the range of foundation techniques they require.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n As in the U<\/span><\/span>nited\u00a0<\/span><\/span>K<\/span><\/span>ingdom<\/span><\/span>, for example, where our colleagues at\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bachy<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0Soletanche Limited\u00a0<\/span><\/span>are currently working on the construction of a new high-speed rail link connecting London, the Midlands, the North and Scotland. The project will serve more than 25 stations and connect around 30 million people.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In France, the Grand Paris Express also highlights the multi-disciplinary approach required by transport infrastructure projects.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n For work package T2a on southbound line 15, for example, we are involved as part of the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Horizon\u00a0<\/span><\/span>consortium in retaining<\/a>, freezing<\/a>, injection and tunnelling<\/a> work (with<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bessac<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/a>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Soletanche\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bachy<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Tunnels<\/span><\/span><\/a>) and deep foundations (with\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Soletanche\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bachy<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Fondations<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Sp\u00e9ciales<\/span><\/span><\/a>).\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>Techniques for large-scale projects<\/h2><\/div>
