CIMESA, a pioneer in the use of EXEGY® by Soletanche Bachy low-carbon concrete for underground works in Mexico.

CIMESA is becoming a pioneer in sustainable construction for foundation elements in Mexico. The Sullivan 25 project is the first to include foundation elements cast with EXEGY® by Soletanche Bachy certified low-carbon concrete.

According to the EXEGY® by Soletanche Bachy classification of low-carbon concretes, the concrete used to cast the diaphragm wall and pillars is classified as “low-carbon”.

The project is located in the centre of Mexico City, on a plot of approximately 2,500 m². The work involves building the enclosure and foundations for an 11-storey tower and 2 basements.

To contain the soft clay soils characteristic of this region, a 50 cm thick diaphragm wall and a soil nailing system were designed. The foundations consist of piles of various diameters, deployed at a depth of 42 m.

With EXEGY® by Soletanche Bachy solutions, CIMESA is minimising the carbon footprint of its structures. We have developed formulas that reduce the carbon footprint by 35% compared with conventional concrete.
